Dance, voice, articulation of creativity and vibrant health, are the life blood flowing through my veins. I thrive on the feeling of being in the moment and completely connected to my body and soul.
Dancing alone isn't as deeply enjoyable to me as dancing with others.
I've had amazing teachers in my life who gave me the tools to be a dancer, but also imparted within me the ability and desire to pass it on. Dance survives through apprenticeship.
As a creative being and teacher I'm deeply committed to bringing the emotional interior out through physical expression.
Growing up a western Montana native, I've been passionately dancing, singing, and loving the creative process for most of my life. I trained and performed with the Rocky Mountain Ballet Theatre before leaving Big Sky country to study on full scholarship at Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. Then it was off to NYC where I worked professionally in dance and musical theatre.
Favorite performance credits:
National Tour: The Will Rogers Follies. Regional productions: 42nd Street, Crazy For You, South Pacific, Mary Poppins, Annie Get Your Gun, Damn Yankees, Thoroughly Modern Millie (Millie), Gypsy Love, & Kismet.
Circle in the Square Theatre School, and receiving my Yoga Certification from Laughing Lotus NYC had a profound affect on me. I'm proud to have been an original company member and teacher with the House of Roses directed by Jeff Shade, performing in their first show at Symphony Space.
I'm honored to be a guest teacher at Sunrise Studios (Vienna, Austria), Vienna International Ballet Experience (VIBE) (Vienna, Austria & USA), and Ballet Beyond Boards (BBB) (USA) . I won gold, silver, and bronze as a competitor and choreographer at VIBE & BBB.
I have the pleasure of passing on my training and experiences through teaching and choreographing at local studios in Humboldt County. Favorite choreography credits: for HLOC (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Mary Poppins, and Damn Yankees); for North Coast Dance (Wizard Of Oz, West Side Story excerpts, and many original works); for DSH original works; and a flash Mob for a birthday surprise!
Co-producing Dancing Stars of Humboldt enables me to give the opportunity to prepare local dancers for a career in performance & provide low cost cultural enrichment to the community.
To all to the people who have helped shape my dance life I am forever grateful! I will continue to nurture the spirit and love of dance in all my work.
